An entrepreneurial take on the business of healthcare
The business of healthcare is changing rapidly. Whether due to our country's aging population, increasing federal regulations, technological integration, life-work balance desires or a dozen other reasons, being successful as a doctor or administrator is a lot tougher than it was when most of us got our start in the healing trade.
I feel most physicians and healthcare executives are so consumed with keeping our practices running and businesses viable, we don't always have time to pay attention to trends and moves in our industry that can and will impact the way care is delivered in the future. That's why I started this blog. It gives me the ability to go "off script" (thus the title) and give my personal take on happenings in the healthcare business world, pointing out what I believe are important issues, proposing why these items could impact us and offering considerations on what I believe are ways to navigate potential pitfalls.
